Arrival Date of the 2017-2018
AISM Yearbook!

Over my six-year tenure here at the American International School of Monrovia, there are many lessons that I have learned over the years!

1. "The only constant is change!" Sadly, we will be losing a little over 30% of our student body this year, however, we are expecting a net increase of students for 2018 – 2019. Nevertheless, as we found out from our staff meeting yesterday: “it is never easy to say goodbye.” The 30 students and 4 faculty members, who made this year so successful, are going to be truly missed!!

2. “All dates are flexible.” Although we hoped to have the Yearbooks here on campus for tomorrow’s Mountain Zebra Zenith, we have now been able to confirm that they will be here on Monday.

Side Note: My first year at AISM in 2012, the yearbooks did not arrive until AFTER school was over. Parents also paid an advance deposit that year. (I guess another “lesson learned” is: don’t ask for a deposit in advance, with 30% annual student turnover. This year, 100 yearbooks have been printed, and they will be sold on a first come, first served basis.)

3. “The final price takes time to determine.” We now have the final price for the yearbooks. The final price is $20 for one … however, if you purchase two, it will be $40. You can also purchase five for $100. Starting Monday, yearbooks will be on sale for parents at 8:00a.m. in the Front Office, and may be picked up, or purchased by students at Lunch on Monday.

The challenges that we have faced since we first left our cocoon, six years ago, have given us all plenty of opportunities to learn, change and transform. This is true even for the Director.

This year’s yearbook is a clear reflection of the growth and progress that our students, and our school, have made during the journey that we have undertaken together, as a community, over the last ten months.

Thank you to the Yearbook Committee for your extensive work “behind the scenes, to bring our yearbook to life”. To hold you over, till Monday, the Yearbook Team added a few more “teasers” below.

After the teasers, the program for tomorrow’s Mountain Zebra Zenith is below. The performance starts at 1:30p.m.

See you tomorrow!!!
