RE: Appointment of new AISM Director, effective for the 2020 – 2021 Academic Year
June 18, 2019
Last week, the Board of Trustees and I held our final meeting of the school year to finalize our one-year Director transition plan, which will allow us to prepare, during the next 14 months, for the arrival of our new school Director in August of 2020.
Once again, the Board of Trustees has worked diligently, in partnership with International School Services since October of this year, to identify the best candidate to lead the American International School of Monrovia forward, at the conclusion of my tenure in July 2020.
At this time, Mr. Justin Cunha, the AISM Board Chair, is pleased to announce that Dr. Bobbi McDaniel has been appointed the Director of the American International School of Monrovia, effective for the 2020 -2021 academic year. The announcement comes after a rigorous and highly competitive search process for the position, which was led by the Chair of the Director Recruitment Committee, Ms. Jay Sorensen.
The AISM Search Committee is excited to have Dr. Bobbi McDaniel join our school community in the summer of 2020. During her site visit, Dr. McDaniel presented herself as a caring, compassionate, and intelligent school leader, who guides with purpose and integrity.
Dr. McDaniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communications, a Master of Arts in Education K-8, and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership. She currently serves as Principal at Vision International School in Qatar.
Dr. McDaniel is enthusiastic about her new appointment and looks forward to working with me and the Board of Trustees on succession planning, and the passing of the torch during the 2019 – 2020 School Year.
Further details about our transition planning will be sent early next year, as Dr. McDaniel will be back on the AISM campus to assist with the Director Handover during the 2019 – 2020 School Year.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees Director Search Committee and the Full Board of Trustees
