AISM Community,

RE: 2019 – 2020: Publication of the American International School of Monrovia Calendar.

On behalf of AISM’s Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce our academic Calendar for the 2019 – 2020 School Year. We are looking forward to working with all our stakeholders, as we continue our school improvement efforts, and once again, offer the American International School Community, an academically robust and fully accredited K – 9 Program.

The academic program will continue to span from EYP (students must be 3 years old by October 30th, 2019, to be admitted) through Grade 10. With the support of our entire school community, we will be able to continue to offer our students “an accredited international school, which provides a meaningful, rigorous American Curriculum in a global context.”

This week, the Board of Trustees met to create the 2019 – 2020 school calendar. During this process, we kept the education of our students as our primary goal, as we created an academic schedule that had as little educational disruption to the instructional process as possible.

The calendar also provides our teaching team with professional development planning during the school year, to support their ability to lesson plan and collaborate. To that end, some holidays which may (or may not) have been celebrated in the past, were adjusted to give the Calendar further balance. We have also continued to follow “best practice” to once again be able to schedule early release afternoons, as needed, when professional development opportunities arise to give our teachers more time to plan for our students’ success.

The 2019 – 2020 Calendar has been posted. Please review the dates and feel free to contact me, or the Board Secretary with any questions or concerns at either or

Have a great afternoon,
