A Million Dreams:

December 10, 2018

AISM Parents, Students, Community Members and Friends,

On behalf of this year’s teaching team (our eleventh), I just want to take a moment to thank you all for making our Holiday Performance and PTA Bazaar so special, last Friday afternoon. As the Director of AISM since 2012, I am very fortunate to have the unwavering support of our entire stakeholder community. All of us, working as a community, have put our students first – and I am truly humbled by the progress that we have made on all fronts – during the many years that I have been privileged to be part of the American International School of Monrovia.

I remember my first AISM Holiday program in 2012, which was held in the school gym, long before we created the very first Single Purpose Room in Monrovia.
I found some pictures from that event that may bring back many memories for some, on “how far we have come”. As per Friday’s theme …. We put a Million Dreams in place to help support your students’ education here at the American International School of Monrovia.

Now, with U.S. Accreditation as a firm stability marker, the stage is now set for an even more growth and progress for AISM. During the course of our second decade, we will continue to strategically improve our students’ educational experience here at the American International School of Monrovia.

We have some additional programming notes to pass along as we conclude the final week of school, and before a well-deserved (and hard-earned) “Winter Holiday.”
The school will be on recess from December 17th – January 7th.

Student Council – Light Village Orphanage Home:

Wednesday, members of the Student Council will join the Light Village Orphanage Home to spread joy outside of our community.

Over the last two weeks, forty ornaments were placed on the Student Council bulletin board near the front office, with the names of the orphans, their ages and gender. Students were asked to select an ornament from the bulletin board and provide an age-appropriate gift to be given to the child. Seven ornaments remain, so please assist and support an orphan with a Holiday gift.

End of the Term celebration: Friday, December 14th: Students Dismissed at 12:30.

Details for the last day of the term will be sent out tomorrow, so everybody can prepare to celebrate our accomplishments during the first part of the school year.
Pictures from our “A Million Dreams” Holiday performance – this time from 2018 – are below.

Let’s have a great week,

Jeff
