AISM Parents,

This is just a quick note to remind you that the school will be on recess tomorrow, celebrating W.V.S Tubman’s Birthday.

This Liberian Holiday is called William Tubman’s Birthday and it marks the birthday of the longest serving President of Liberia: William Tubman. Tubman served as President of Liberia from January 3, 1944, until his death in 1971. Tomorrow, the school will be closed, as we recognize this official Liberian Holiday.

This school year, “The Year of the Wildebeest”, has seen over 40% of our families new to our community. Here at AISM, the old axiom, “the only constant is change”, may be true among our transient student population; however, we are fortunate that it is not true with either our academic program or our strong parent community.

Both the recent report cards and the Trimester I MAP results show us that, here at the American International School of Monrovia, we are preparing your students not just academically, but also emotionally and socially for an ever-changing world.

To that end, we just want to quickly mention our Holiday Program and PTA Christmas Bazaar. The Holiday Program, as noted below, is on Friday, December 7th, at 2:00 pm. (We have adjusted the time from prior years so that we can enjoy our students’ performance and not the traffic). Below is the program; please be sure to also mark the dates for our upcoming AISM events.

  • Please see dress code, and program below, and please plan for traffic.
  • Dress code***
  • Girls: skirts/dresses or slacks, dressy tops
  • Boys: button-down shirts/polo, long pants

***No t-shirts, shorts, blue jeans, or sneakers

Have a great one-day holiday! We are looking forward to seeing your students well rested and back to school on Friday, November 30th, to close out our busiest month.
