Welcome to the Year of the Wildebeest!

As we embark on our eleventh academic year here at AISM …. we enter The Year of the Wildebeest. It is our aim to use our team’s combined 110 years of experience to positively impact the lives of each student who is part of our school community. Just like the wildebeest, a creature of the wild that contributes greatly to the world in which they live, every child has as a part to play in our classrooms and our school society.

This year, we will ensure that our student learning is enduring like a Wildebeest. We will work with your students to encourage them to remain focused on established goals and plans in the midst of difficult situations.

As wildebeests migrate in one circle or loop in search of grass to eat and water to drink, I also believe that, as a class, we can work together to achieve success. We can learn from each other and move to new learning paths and goals as we work hard this year to improve our learning.
Let us take our academic journey together, leaving sparkles everywhere, like a herd of wildebeest in the wild!
I am looking forward to a great year! To that end, we have some news and notes to pass along:

School Guidelines

The Parent/Student Handbook can be found at: https://www.aismonrovia.com/aism-parent-partnership-handbook. Please note that the website is updated each year on September 1st …. So that is when the Wildebeest will replace the Zebra as we launch the 2018-2019 school year!

School Supplies

A list of school supplies can be found in our School News, on our website. Please note that some additional supplies may be needed throughout the year. However, we will always give plenty of notice. The ASAP program will start on Tuesday, September 4th. Information about last year’s activities (they will change this Trimester) can be found at: https://www.aismonrovia.com/after-school-activities

Café Royal: Cantina and Hot Lunch Program

The Café Royal will start their second year of serving the American International School of Monrovia Community. As per the Café Royal’s tradition, lunch will be provided, free of charge, for all students and staff, on the first day of School, on August 20th. The program itself will return 9 days later, on September 4th.

The daily Hot Lunch Program rates will be:

EYP: $4.00 Per Day
ECE III: $5.00 Per Day
Gr. 1 – Gr. 10: $7.00 Per Day

This year, however, the Café Royal AISM Cafeteria will offer Trimester Rates. Parents may choose to pay per Trimester for the HLP and get a 5% discount on the total amount. If parents choose to continue to pay monthly, the rates will remain the same.

We encourage parents who would like to save a little on the HLP to take advantage of this offer.
